Vicky Kaushal launched the trailer for the coming-of-age comedy presented by Sriram Raghavan and directed by Varun Grover.
The unveiling of the film “All India Rank” trailer marked a significant moment on Monday as actor Vicky Kaushal shared a glimpse into the competitive world of securing an IIT seat. This movie, marking the directorial debut of writer Varun Grover renowned for Sacred Games, premiered at the 12th Dharamshala International Film Festival.
Sharing the trailer, Vicky wrote on Instagram on Monday, “Hum dono engineers ka cinema ki duniya mein safar lagbhag saath hi shuru hua with… Masaan. “Saala yeh dukh kaahe khatam nahi hota bey!” (Us engineers began our career in the film industry almost at the same time with Masaan. ‘Why does the suffering never end!’) A line etched by him remains one of the most resonant scenes in my cinematic voyage thus far.”
He continued, “Thrilled to present the Trailer of ALL INDIA RANK… the maiden directorial venture of my talented friend Varun Grover. Shine on, my brother, and heartfelt wishes to the entire team.”
The trailer, spanning two-and-a-half minutes, captures the story of a 17-year-old from Lucknow navigating familial expectations in the 90s. Struggling to prepare for India’s most challenging undergraduate exam at an IIT coaching center in Kota, he encounters numerous hurdles. The essence of the narrative lies in his resilience amidst adversity.
